“ I've been here many times. Each time it gets better I think. The staff at this location is always amazing and helpful. The food is tasty, unusual and fulfilling. Each time I try something new. Today I'm having the cucumber appetizer, shrimp gyoza, pork & shrimp soup dumplings. Everything was delicious ”
“ I love the consistency of dough zone! The food is always delicious, service is fast and it is very well priced. One of our go to spots for dinner out in woodinville! ”
“ We have gotten dinner from this location of Dough Zone multiple times now and like it. Recently we got Chicken & Vegetable Wontons in Chilli sauce, Chicken Xiao Long Bao, and Pork & Shrimp Potstickers. These are our favorites at Dough Zone and liked what we got. I'm happy that this location has the same taste as the others. ”
“ Local dumpling chain known for XLBs and SJBs? That's a top priority visit for me. We stopped by the Woodinville location as it was the closest to where we were staying. This location is pretty casual - if you want a takeout order, there's a kiosk right in front of the door to order from. Otherwise, you can take a seat, check out the menu on your phone via QR code, and tick the items you want on a dim sum-like menu sheet. I haven't been to any other location, so I can't say if it's usually like this, but I found it to be very convenient. Pork Xiao Long Bao ($9.25) - I'm not sure if they make these XLBs in house or if they are shipped in (frozen?) and steamed in house. Still, being frozen isn't bad as long as they are manufactured well, and these XLBs certainly are pretty good. The skins are quite thin and very tender, with the meat being extra tender and extremely flavorful. Most of the dumplings have a good amount of aspic inside, but some pieces come pre-punctured, resulting in all of the juices running out. (4/5) Beef-Stew Noodles ($7.75) - This is a relatively small portion of beef noodle soup, with super tender fall-apart beef and very bouncy and chewy noodles in a rich, flavorful broth. The beef has a bit of fat on it to give even more richness. The noodles are pretty much perfectly cooked, with an excellent bounce. The broth is just a bit spicy and sweet, with a spice mix that tastes different from the usual combination of herbal stewing spices. This is an excellent beef noodle soup overall. In the future, I may come back and order a double portion of this dish for a good meal. (5/5) Pan Fried Pork Buns ($9.95) - This is Dough Zone's version of a sheng jian bao. I found these to be very interesting - definitely machine made, with a very uniform dough thickness and a thin twisted top that almost looks extruded from a machine. The amount of aspic is a little lacking with probably less than 1 tsp per bun and it's more of a slurry rather than a soup. The taste is quite savory but very different than most other SJBs I've had; usually after eating a couple of these, I feel sick from the fatty richness, but these are very light in comparison. These buns seem to be steamed first, then pan fried in as little oil as possible in comparison to the more traditional method of being pan fried in oil first, then adding water to steam. Due to the lack of oil/fat the bottom is more like a baked cracker crust rather than giving a fried crunch. I'd honestly consider this to be an entirely different beast vs. an actual sheng jian bao; still good, but doesn't quite reach the heights of an excellent SJB. (4/5) Spicy Beef Pancake Roll ($8.95) - The roll is stuffed with a good amount of thin, tender beef that has the strong taste of chili oil and a bit of numbing mala. The inclusion of lettuce is a little puzzling, but I suppose it does add a bit of a crisp for contrasting textures. Surrounding the beef and lettuce is a green onion pancake that is quite dry and is easily able to be separated into layers. Similar to the pan fried buns, I feel like they fry this in as little oil as possible, making it more like a baked cracker vs a chip. Overall this roll is very dry and a bit tough to eat. I wouldn't get it again. (3/5) I have to say, I feel like Dough Zone healthifies the food a bit, maybe to appeal to the more health conscious and active people in the PNW? The amount of oil and grease that's usually in some of these dishes has been cut down drastically, resulting in food that, while still tasty, isn't quite as good as more traditional renditions. Still, given convenience and price, Dough Zone is still well worth a visit. Note: It also helps that Costco sells $100 worth of Dough Zone gift cards for $80, so it makes the food even cheaper! Bathrooms: Two individual rooms one for each gender. ”
“ Whenever a known chain you like adds a location, you always hope for the best - hope that management, etc are sufficient to uphold the standards and processes that have made them successful, and the Woodinville location definitely shines as a great example. I have ordered online for pick up a couple of times from this location, and it's always been a great experience. Parking is pretty good - it's a small-ish lot for the area, but I havent had issues parking. The online ordering system is great - you can pick and customize your food and they give you an accurate pickup time. The two times, it was pretty busy inside but they took care of take-out orders with good priority -- you might need to push yourself past the crowds waiting for a seat, though - to the desk on the right when you come in. The take out containers are INSANELY CUTE - it's like a nice little white and red, branded bag with a bright red string... and all the packaging seems purpose-made for this restaurant. It feels special and it's also functional (doesn't spill all over the place, has a good presentation, etc). The food is universally excellent. My family is really into dumplings and noodles, so this always hits the spot, especially on a dark, cold, rainy day. We usually get the dan dan noodles (oily, spicy/peppercorn noodles), sweet and sour cucumber (spiral-cut cucumber in sweet and sour sauce -- super bright and refreshing), soup dumplings (chicken xiao long bao - thin dumpling with soup and chicken inside), pan fried/boiled dumplings (potstickets, basically)... etc. We almost always buy way too much stuff -- but we never want anyone to be left wanting more because everything is so freakin good, so... I just say to buy more than you think because dumplings can go surprisingly fast. ”
“ This is a great location for the Doughzone chain. Clean and we'll maintained. We tried their Xiao long baos and soup dumplings on a cold evening. Food was yum and the service was great. ”
“ A very nice Dough Zone. Spacious one. They're very busy and so some dishes may take longer. We ordered the kale dish w sesame sauce and sprinkled chopped peanuts. Also the special Jiangbing Guo Zi. And finally of course the Xiao Long Bao. Friendly service even though busy. Servers are very nice. ”
